Think You Can Make a Winning Handmade Holiday Ornament?

The Amy's would like you to prove it!
Amy of Mod Podge Rocks and I invite you to participate in our handmade and recycled ornament contest. Here's the scoop:

Who: You!

What: Craft an ornament using recycled and repurposed materials. There is no limit on what you can use as long as you are giving most components a second life. The two Amy's are going to choose based on originality and most creativity use of the materials.

How: Send a **photo (preferably 300 dpi, no larger than 1MB) of your creation to thingswemake at gmail dot com and be sure to include the following information:
Your name
City/State
Ingredients used
General instructions for making

When: Entries will be accepted between Thursday Dec.3 and Thursday Dec 17. We'll choose three of the most original and inspiring ornaments and will post the winners on Dec. 18.

Why: You can win a boatload of crafting supplies that will be perfect for giving out as gifts and/or adding to your own creative inspiration. Think of this as a way to get some extra motivation to make super easy gifts for some of the people on your list using your creativity rather than cash.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a prize pack including:
Craft Inc. Business Planner: The Ultimate Organizer for Turning Your Crafts into Cash by Meg Mateo Illasco
Applique Your Way by Kate Terry
One-Yard Wonders by Yaker Hoskins
3 bottles of specialty Mod Podge, one Glitter, one Shimmer and one Glow in the Dark
An assortment of Beacon glues
One bottle of Dimensional Magic (great for jewelry making)
One Neatnix Stuff Bucket
2 brightly colored spools of thread
4 Fat quarters of vintage inspired fabric

Each Runner Up will get:
1 bottle Glitter Mod Podge
1 bottle Shimmer Mod Podge
A surprise crafting book

Remember, you're not only entering to win some pretty awesome prizes, but you also get a little gift just for you: serious bragging rights to your crafty ways!

**By submitting a photo, you are certifying that it is your own original work.
We'll be sharing all of the ornament projects that we like, so even if you don't win, you still get to share your creation with the rest of us. So what are you waiting for, get crafting?

The image up above by Paper Affection is very inspiring and I thought appropriate for this post. If you aren't interested in crafting, you should check out their shop for other festive paper-based tree trimmings.

  1. I LOVE this idea, Amy. I can't wait to take a picture of the ornament I just made today... and then see what everyone else is creating, too!
