Katherine was born and raised in Singapore but has recently moved to Munich to join her husband who is working there. She started her etsy site as a way to regain and maintain her sanity while she worked a full-time job in the executive search business, but she's now focusing on it more as she adjusts to her new home.
From Katherine:
I love all things whimsical and pretty, as well as nature-related (having being a Zoo volunteer for 7 years) and these are the main influences of my designs. I always make special efforts to ensure the quality of my works and I'm proud of each of them as every piece is unique (each design comes in very limited quantity).Let's help her celebrate this new phase in her creative life by entering the giveaway. Here's how to do enter: Post a comment about one thing you're looking forward to doing this spring or that this ring reminds you of from warmer seasons of the past by 12 pm Central Time Friday February 4th. To be entered twice, become a fan of Katherine's work on facebook and mention that you did so in your comment. The winner will be chosen at random.
Please make sure to use a username when you post so I know who you are, and email me at thingswemake at gmail dot com with your full name and address to ensure that you will recieve your prize should you win.
And now just for fun, here are a few of the other accessories available in Katherine's shop.
I would love to start spending time outside this Spring exploring the nooks and crannies of our neighbourhood with my kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful eye candy! I am so looking forward to taking long drives in the country looking at the wild flowers bloom. It's a springtime tradition for our family here in Texas. I'm following Katherine on Facebook too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ring! I'd definitely like to see this on my finger! I'm looking forward to watching the tulips bloom and the ships and clippers coming into the harbour. I will say that I am not looking forward to the deluge of rain that spring around here will inevitably bring!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I live in New Jersey, right across the Hudson from New York City. I'm looking forward to going for walks in the parks that face the New York City skyline- it's an amazing view!
ReplyDeletei'm looking forward to playing tennis outside
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to spending some long weekend days in my best friend's new backyard now that he's a homeowner, complete with stacks of books and a blanket.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ring! It reminds me of The Secret Garden. I can't wait for spring + picnics in Central Park.
ReplyDeleteOh this makes me want to stand outside and soak up some sunshine!
ReplyDelete@cbormann
I just moved into a new house and can't wait to see what the yard looks like when the snow melts and of course start a garden!
ReplyDeleteI live in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley so I am eagerly anticipating the lush green as it takes over our mountain-scapes. Just thinking about Spring makes me think of hiking, gardening and sewing outside.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! This ring reminds me of getting dressed up in my grandma's jewelry and lazing by the pool when I was a little girl. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI live in MN, which is a frozen mess. I absolutely can't wait for the smell of grass, flowers and the sound of birds chirping as I bike to work in the morning.
ReplyDeleteVery much looking forward to picnics and eating outdoors in general!
ReplyDeleteoh wow - what a sweet little shop. I think Katherine might relate being in Germany, too. I'm most ready for SUN. It's been quite the long, dark winter.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies.
Katie
I love this ring! My favorite part of spring has always been when the first daffodils poke out, sometimes through the snow. I love daffodils--they look like they're glowing! Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeleteAnd I became a fan on facebook!
Love her work! Spring this year is very much a 'time of change' for me. Moving back across the country, going back to school, starting anew. I'm excited for all the changes spring is bringing!
ReplyDeleteI became a fan on facebook, can't wait to check out all of her stuff!
I am MOST looking forward to seeing my hydrangea come back to life after the winter!! That is, if it's still alive. :) It will be two years old this spring, and this was my first winter to try to keep it outdoors so it could have a proper winter rest (it lives in a rather large pot).
ReplyDeleteBut I'm terrified that I've somehow killed it, despite running downstairs with blankets and sheets, etc. on particularly cold nights. Fingers crossed...
Very pretty piece! I'm looking forward to feeling the warm sun on my skin again. To be outside and see all the flowers and birds.
ReplyDeletebecame a fan on facebook~
What beautiful pieces! I'm mostly looking forward to the light that spring will bring. In the winter, I'm forced to spend those precious daylight hours sitting at my desk in a climate-controlled corporate building. By the time I break free at 5-ish, it's already dark. I love to photograph food but it's difficult to do in the winter...I can't wait for those brilliant lovely days filled with long walks home and naturally-lit photographs taken on my sun-flooded dining room table.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to planting this year's garden.
ReplyDeleteRiding my bicycle!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to wear less padding!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan on her FB already! Hi Kath!! You know who I am!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for long, evening runs. Ahhh :)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to go to the botanical gardens and have picnics with my boyfriend!
I am waiting to get out on my deck so I can sit on the swing and watch the birds and river flow by
ReplyDeleteForgot to say I am a fan of Katherines' on Facebook
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to go on a bike (motorcycle) ride with the hubs! Oh, and just enjoy the WARMTH (oops that was two things, forgive me:))
ReplyDeleteA lovely little ring!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to sowing the seeds of summer blooms and veggies. It will be such a long, long time before I can see anything sprouting but I'm staying patient:)
Marrying the man I've been sewing into my heart for a decade, who just happened to drop into my life (finally!). We will have a teeny ceremony in the woods and I will wear a pink dress and this ring and my heart on my sleeve.
ReplyDeleteThat ring (and all her pieces) are just great - I love the first shots of color that pop up in spring - the dark green stems, the royal purples of crocus and sunny yellows of daffodils.
ReplyDeleteI'm also a facebook fan!
Crocuses, crocuses, crocuses. Can't wait for some crocuses. (Croci?) Such a pretty ring.
ReplyDeleteI just purchased the pink rose ring from Etsy!
