My First Granny Square!

It's not perfect, but it is one! It took a lot of fussing last night in class (and then when I got home and then some more this morning) but I think I finally understand how to do this! Nothing like a little creative crafting challenge to get the juices flowing! Now I just need to figure out how to make my holes smaller and get my tension more even, but I am sure all of that will come in time.

  1. It's beautiful. Man, you really stuck with it! I think it's awesome. The holes are usually just about as big as the shells, so you're so on your way to being the go-to shower gift girl.

  2. You are your own toughest critic - that square looks fantastic!! Aren't they fun, once you get the rhythm down?

  3. I'm not sure I've gotten the rhythm down quite yet, but something did click in my brain this morning so I am SURE that they will be fun very, very soon. In fact, they might become my new lunchtime break activity!

  4. If you want a granny square with smaller holes, omit the chain 1 in between your shells. Keep the chain 2 spaces in the corners, though. You did a good job there. I commend you on your diligence.
